Z3-PROF Questions

Why doesn't the Z3-PROF have a swivel?
The Z3-PROF is optimized for straight-line industrial lifting and descent. Removing the swivel reduces weight and mechanical complexity, making it more reliable for professional rigging where tangle-free rotation isn't the primary requirement. For swivel-equipped models, see the Z3-FIRE or Z3-MINI.
How does the friction block improve descent control?
The single friction block, combined with 3 rope guide wheels, provides smooth, predictable friction during manual descent. Unlike the Z2 series' friction hook (which requires pre-wrapping), the Z3-PROF lets you control descent simply by gripping the rope and slowly pulling the release handle — no pre-wrapping needed.
Can I use liquid lubricant on the Z3-PROF?
No. The user manual explicitly prohibits adding liquid lubricating oil — it can cause the gearbox crash self-locking device to fail. The gearbox is factory-lubricated with high-temperature grease and is maintenance-free within its rated service life. If lubrication is needed, only use high-temperature grease via the proper service procedure.
